Join us on November 2, 2019, for the San Francisco Symphony’s vibrant Day of the Dead celebration, featuring traditional Latin American music and culture, dazzling guest artists, colorful festivities, and fun-filled events for the entire family.

CASA CIRCULO CULTURAL, in partnership with the San Mateo County History Museum and the Friends of the Library, and in collaboration with Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation, hosts the 7th Annual Celebration of Day of the Dead- Dia de los Muertos on Redwood City’s Courthouse Square.

The Unity Council Día de Los Muertos Annual Festival is a free, outdoor festival that brings over 80,000 people to the vibrant, culturally-rich Fruitvale neighborhood to enjoy world-class live music, family-friendly games, rides and activities, traditional Latin American artisans, and the stunning altar artistic installations created by community members paying homage to los Muertos. Families across California join us to experience live music, Ballet Folklorico, Aztec dancers and to shop at the local artisan craft stands.

At this time of year, when the veil between the living and dead is thought to be at its most diaphanous, take part in the eighth year of the Dìa de los Muertos Celebration. 

Día de los Muertos is a traditional Meso–American holiday dedicated to theancestors; it honors both death and the cycle of life. 

Learn about Day of the Dead/Día de Los Muertos traditions in Spanish and English and then transform a shoebox into a beautiful altar to honor a loved one.
