We are BEYOND THRILLED to announce the new Edwardian Ball 2022 dates at The Regency Ballroom: Friday, April 1st and Saturday, April 2nd!

Both nights of our “Spring Revival!” will continue to feature the full experience of The Edwardian Ball at a reduced capacity, and our lineup of amazing performers remains the same as announced for our original dates.

Per our ticket policy, all previously purchased tickets will be honored at our new dates. If you already have tickets, there is no action required. Friday Feb 4th tickets are valid for Friday, April 1st. Saturday Feb 5th tickets are good for Saturday, April 2nd. For ticketing support, please email queries@edwardianball.com.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our friends at Opulent Temple for working with us in shuffling the calendar to land on our new dates. This is a wonderful example of how our community works together…we could not have done it without them!

Born from a love of Edward Gorey

Celebrate American author, Tony Award winning costume designer, and artist noted for his dark, humorous, illustrated tales of Edward Gorey at this years The Edwardian Ball. The Ball has blossomed over two decades into a fully immersive, participant-driven festival of the arts. Attendees from all over the world are highly encouraged to step out of their everyday lives, to show up in costume and character, and to co-create a beautifully imagined “neo-Edwardian” world of creativity and whimsy. Music, theatre, circus, fine art, fashion, oddities, and ballroom dance mix and mingle in an imaginative setting, fostering a sense of place and connection.

The Wuggly Ump

Each year, Edwardian Ball co-hosts Rosin Coven and Vau de Vire Society choose a featured Gorey tale and bring it to life on stage with original scoring, choreography, and multi-media performance. This year’s featured story is The Wuggly Ump, a short, humorous tale of children at play and their eventual demise at the hands of a devious, mythical creature.

Edwardian Ball Vendor Bazaar

Taking place throughout three levels of the elegantly historic Regency Ballroom, the event presents a grand ballroom of dancing and performances, the Museum of Wonders featuring fine art, immersive performance, and cabinets of curiosity, and the elaborate Vendor Bazaar with over 50 carefully curated artisan vendors featuring one-of-a-kind fashion, art, and wares.

Daytime Shopping available, Saturday, February 5, 2022 – 12:00-5pm - admission free! Enter at 1270 Sutter Street (Social Hall SF).

This year’s changes include:

● Reduced capacity by 50%, both nights - Tickets are selling out quickly!

● Access to all areas of The Regency Ballroom, including the formerly VIP-only seated mezzanine.

● All Covid-19 protocols and regulations will be implemented, including proof of vaccination as a requirement for entry to the event. 

All in all a fun adventure….

…but more suited for teens on the older side. Any event that cites a historical dress code seems to deviate quickly to corsetry. Expect there to be more Burlesque fashion involved than other historic events. The performances are for a more mature audience. As you can see, my teen and I had a blast! If you’re a Bohemian and creative family with older teens who like to dress up or cosplay, then this event will interest you, otherwise, leave young kids at home and head out for a truly unique date night or GNO.

The creators of The Edwardian Ball are absolutely thrilled and delighted to return after missing the event in 2021, and cannot wait for you to join them in reconnecting and reviving this beautifully imagined world together!
