Join Ranger Gabe and the Marin Stargazers for an unforgettable evening of stargazing! As the sun sets, a beautiful crescent Moon will grace the western sky alongside the dazzling Venus. Prepare to embark on a celestial journey as we guide you through the Summer Triangle, the Great Square of Pegasus, and constellations such as Scorpius, Sagittarius, and Cygnus. Once darkness falls, the mesmerizing summer Milky Way will be visible, and our telescopes will offer stunning views of nascent star-forming nebulas, the magnificent Great Hercules cluster M13, and much more. The finale will feature the Andromeda galaxy and magnificent Saturn rising, displaying its rings almost edge-on for a special celestial spectacle this year. Distance: 0.5 miles; elevation gain: 200 feet. Appropriate for the whole family. Bring a red flashlight and binoculars if you have them. Friendly dogs are okay but must be on a leash. Adverse weather or poor air quality may cancel. Check the calendar, or if in doubt, call (415) 473-2816 two hours before the event to confirm the status. Registration is required.
